CT Forum - Chef José Andres

The Bushnell held a series of CT forum events, and on April 3rd, they hosted Chef José Andres, who was interviewed by Daniel (Danny) Meyer. I excitedly attended this event knowing a little bit about José’s overall culinary career and of World Central Kitchen, but through this event, I learned so much more. When there was a pause for applause, I kept saying to my peers seated around me how funny José was and that he should one day become a comedian! On a more serious note, I learned so much more about him, including his involvement with politics, all of his restaurants, his mother, who is his inspiration, and his three daughters. The way José was able to grasp the entire audience; multiple times when he went on rants, gave me chills. Some quotes I wrote down from him included: “but at the end both rights could be right,” and “success is going from failure to failure.” This event made me want to go home and cook with my culinary inspirations, my Nonna (grandmother) and my father, Sandro. Food is not only fuel, and José helped showcase that it is much more.
