Tangiers International Market
On May 7th, I went to the Tangiers International market for dinner with some peers from Watkinson’s Girls Varsity Tennis team after one of our final matches. Upon arrival, I was astonished that I hadn’t ever been there before! I indulged in chicken gyro, and shared some appetizers of a chickpea salad of sorts, pita, and fresh hummus washed down with a “tiptop” coconut drink with basil seeds. And for dessert, I shared Tangier's homemade cookies filled with blackberries and some Dubai chocolate! The savory aspects of this meal balanced well with my sweet drink, and the sweet desserts were a lovely final touch. This was a bittersweet moment, it makes me sad to realize such an interesting, local place with foods from many different cultures has been near me and I only enjoyed it for the first time this year. I definitely plan on going again and sharing this newfound market with friends and family!
